On September 16, local time, according to a report issued by health officials from the US state of Florida that day, data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed that the number of deaths from the new crown virus in Florida increased by 1,500 in recent weeks. As of now, the total number of deaths due to the new crown virus in the state has reached 50,811. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stated that the death rate per capita in Florida has risen from 17th to 11th among all US states in the past two weeks. Since March 2020, one in every 400 residents of Florida has died from the new crown virus. Epidemiologists believe that Florida’s elderly population is overpopulated, and they often come into contact with young people with low COVID-19 vaccination rates. Therefore, even if the new crown vaccination rate in Florida exceeds the average level in the United States, it still cannot prevent the spread of the delta mutant strain.
