At the beginning of this year, BYD launched a "Smart Driving for All" campaign, and almost the vast majority of its new vehicles were equipped with intelligent driving assistance systems. The rapid growth of orders naturally puts great pressure on other competing automakers. Shortly after, Geely Automobile also followed suit. Not only did it offer significant discounts on new models, but a large number of new cars also featured intelligent driving assistance systems, such as the Geely Galaxy E5 that we are going to introduce today.
Geely Galaxy E5 started its price reduction promotion as early as May this year. The manufacturer's suggested retail price is 107,800-143,800 yuan, and the starting price after the discount is 97,800 yuan. For a compact pure electric SUV, such a price is not expensive. It should be noted that the entry-level pure electric range reaches 440 kilometers, and the range of mid-to-high-end configuration models is as high as 530 kilometers.
Recently, we found that the new Geely Galaxy E5 has started to be applied for, indicating that the new car is about to undergo another upgrade. After careful examination, it was found that this new car has an intelligent driving version. It features dual cameras on the front windshield and on the side fenders. More importantly, a camera has also appeared at the rear, all of which indicate that the new car will have an intelligent driving version, and I think it will adopt the Qianli Haohan H3.
I even think this configuration is very likely to be widely standard, and that's on the premise that the new car doesn't increase in price. The reason is very simple. At the price range of 100,000 yuan, many users are more concerned about the price and the pure electric driving range. As for the intelligent assisted driving system, it is indeed necessary. However, it is actually unlikely that users will spend more money because this is a compact pure electric SUV, which is bound to be difficult to drive on the highway for a long time. Isn't BYD just adding intelligent driving but not raising the price? So I think even if an intelligent driving version is launched, the price is likely to be the same as the current model.
The appearance remains consistent with the current model, and the overall sense of fashion is well done. Moreover, the mid-to-high-end configuration models feature a panoramic sunroof, hidden electric door handles, and even come equipped with Bluetooth card keys. In terms of body data, the length, width and height of this Geely Galaxy E5 are 4,615mm, 1,901 mm and 1,670mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2,750mm. This is an SUV with a large space.
The interior design has not been exposed yet, but it is definitely exactly the same as the current model. The overall sense of space in the interior is well handled, and the configuration is also extremely rich. The 540-degree panoramic image system is even standard. In fact, this Geely Galaxy E5 is equipped with a 15.4-inch large central control screen and is also fitted with the Galaxy OS in-car system. The mid-to-high-end models are also equipped with wireless fast charging for mobile phones.
In fact, the sales of Geely Galaxy E5 were quite good last year. Even from August last year to January this year, the monthly sales never dropped below 12,000 units. It even reached its peak in November last year, approaching 19,000 units. However, now the sales have started to decline. When the sales of most new cars rose rapidly in May this year, the sales of this Geely Galaxy E5 were only 8,460 units. So it is imperative to launch an intelligent driving version.
