Xinhua News Agency, Sofia, November 24th - At the invitation of the Bulgarian National Assembly, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of the China Association for International Exchange of Non-Governmental Organizations, Xiao Jie, visited Bulgaria from November 22nd to 24th. During his visit, he held talks with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Naza Len, the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Zafirov, the Chairman of the Renaissance Party, Costa Dimonov, the Chairman of the Citizens' Party, Borisov, and the Chairperson of the Bulgarian-Chinese Friendship Group of the Parliament, Dimitrov, and attended the "Silk Road Heart-to-Heart" China-Bulgaria Civilian Friendship Exchange Activity.
Xiao Jie stated that the traditional friendship between China and Bulgaria is profound. Under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, bilateral relations have shown a good momentum of development. The high-quality construction of the "Belt and Road Initiative" and cooperation in various fields have achieved fruitful results. China is willing to work with Bulgaria to closely enhance exchanges and cooperation among legislative bodies, political parties, and the people, and to promote the in-depth development of China-Bulgaria relations, China-CEEC relations, and China-EU relations.
