As of the close of trading on that day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 314.67 points compared to the previous trading day, closing at 47,427.12 points, with an increase of 0.67%; the S&P 500 Index increased by 46.73 points, closing at 6,812.61 points, with an increase of 0.69%; the Nasdaq Composite Index rose by 189.10 points, closing at 23,214.69 points, with an increase of 0.82%.
In terms of sectors, the S&P 500 index saw nine out of the eleven sectors rise and two fall. The utilities sector and the technology sector led the gains with increases of 1.32% and 1.27% respectively, while the communication services sector and the healthcare sector declined by 0.49% and 0.25% respectively.
