On the morning of May 20th, China Daily reported that the deployment ceremony of China's tenth peacekeeping police force to the United Nations South Sudan mission area was held at the Ministry of Public Security's standing peacekeeping police training base. On the early morning of the 20th, 12 Chinese peacekeeping police officers will fly to South Sudan to carry out peacekeeping missions. The relevant person in charge of the International Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security stated that as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and the second largest contributor to peacekeeping, China firmly supports and actively participates in United Nations peacekeeping operations.
This dispatch is the first time that China has dispatched a peacekeeping police force to the South Sudan mission area after a smooth transition in epidemic prevention and control. It is a concrete manifestation of China's public security organs practicing global security initiatives and fulfilling their responsibilities as a major country.
