By the end of November in 2025, the number of international tourists entering Nepal will exceed one million.
The Nepal Tourism Board announced the latest data on December 1st, stating that a total of 116,553 international tourists entered Nepal in November 2025, marking the total number of international visitors to Nepal this year exceeding the 1 million mark.
The number of international tourists entering the country in that month increased by 2% compared to the same period in 2024. Although domestic unrest in Nepal in September caused some concerns from the outside world, the statistics show that the cumulative number of international tourists for the first 11 months of this year reached 1,060,269, which was slightly higher than the same period last year and recovered to 96.4% of the same period in 2019.
From the perspective of tourist source structure, in the first 11 months of 2025, India was Nepal's largest international tourist source market, with a total of 262,345 tourists; the United States ranked second with 105,239 tourists; and Chinese tourists ranked third with 86,800 tourists.
From October to December each year, Nepal experiences its traditional peak tourist season. Recently, the Nepalese authorities have also announced a reduction in the travel permit fees for popular tourist destinations such as Upper Mustang, aiming to attract more foreign tourists to visit.
