On February 3rd, a reporter from China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation No. 11 Institute learned that the world's first hybrid-powered unmanned transport aircraft, Rainbow YH-1000S, developed by this institute, recently made its maiden flight in Liangping, Chongqing.
This is another new model that has been rapidly iterated to meet the global market demand. It made its maiden flight in May 2025 after the successful test flight of the Rainbow YH-1000 unmanned transport aircraft. The model was equipped with a high-power hybrid power system jointly developed by an electric vehicle enterprise, which shortened the take-off and landing distance, increased the payload and range, and successfully completed the verification of its aerial flight performance.
The Rainbow YH-1000S is a large unmanned transport aircraft designed and developed by the 11th Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation in accordance with aviation standards. It can play a role in international logistics transportation and delivery, emergency rescue and disaster reduction, artificial weather modification, marine monitoring, and maritime supervision, among other fields.
