Heavy rainfall in northern Colombia has caused floods, affecting over 120,000 people in Córdoba Province alone.

According to a report by Colombian media on the 10th, recent heavy rainfall in the northern provinces of Colombia, namely Córdoba and Sucre, has caused severe floods. The number of affected people in Córdoba alone has exceeded 120,000.
The report quoted Erasmo Suleta, the governor of Córdoba Province, as saying that the affected area in the province accounted for approximately 80% of the entire province. Twenty-four out of 30 municipalities were affected by the heavy rain, which caused damage to houses, roads and crops.
Carlos Carrillo, the director of the National Disaster Risk Management Agency of Colombia, said that government reports indicated that more than 40,000 hectares of land were flooded and many people lost their lives in the disaster. The Colombian government has activated emergency response plans and has used helicopters and drones to monitor the disaster situation.
The Colombian meteorological department analyzed that the country's climate in February is usually dry, but this year, due to the combined effect of various climatic factors including cold fronts affecting the Caribbean region, there was heavy rainfall in February.
