Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán met with Wang Yi
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met with Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister, in Budapest on November 11.
Wang Yi conveyed the cordial greetings of Chinese leaders to Orbán. Wang Yi stated that the leaders of the two countries have established a solid foundation of mutual trust and friendship, providing a strategic guarantee for the healthy development of China-Hungary relations. China appreciates the long-standing friendly policy towards China pursued by the government led by Prime Minister Orbán and its active promotion of all-round cooperation between China and Hungary. China-Hungary relations are based on mutual respect, equality, and win-win cooperation, possessing strong endogenous momentum and broad development space. China welcomes Hungary to continue to ride the fast train of Chinese-style modernization, share opportunities, and jointly promote development. China believes that Hungary will continue to provide strong support on issues involving China's core interests. China will, as always, support Hungary in safeguarding its sovereignty, security, and development interests, forging a successful path suited to its national conditions, and oppose external interference in Hungary's internal affairs. The successful story of China-Hungary cooperation will have a demonstrative effect on Europe and the world, and China looks forward to Hungary playing a positive role in promoting the healthy development of China-EU relations.
Orban asked Wang Yi to convey his sincere greetings to the Chinese leaders, noting that President Xi Jinping's historic visit to Hungary in 2024 consolidated the traditional friendship between Hungary and China and deepened cooperation in various fields. Hungary admires China's development achievements and welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest and do business in Hungary. Hungary firmly adheres to the one-China policy and looks forward to further deepening all-round cooperation with China. Hungary will continue to actively promote EU-China dialogue and cooperation.
During the visit, Wang Yi held talks with Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjártó and jointly met with reporters.
