The World Economic Forum released a statement on the 26th saying that Borge Braendle has decided to resign as the president and CEO of the World Economic Forum.
Brendt said in the statement that "now is the best time for the forum to remain uninterrupted and continue to carry out its important work", and expressed the hope that the forum would achieve greater success under the leadership of interim president and CEO Alois Zwinge.
The co-chairmen of the World Economic Forum's board, Andrei Hoffmann and Larry Fink, stated in another statement that they respect the decision to let Brend step down and express their gratitude for his contributions.
