The 54th Hong Kong Arts Festival opened at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre on the 27th. This year's Hong Kong Arts Festival brought together over 1,100 outstanding artists from Hong Kong, the mainland and overseas, presenting over 45 wonderful programs and 180 performances.
The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Li Jiachao, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, stating that the Hong Kong Arts Festival is a cultural event that attracts attention from the international art community. It not only provides a stage for top artists from home and abroad to showcase their innovative ideas and artistic achievements, but also brings world-class performances to the general public. The Arts Festival is not only a gathering of performing arts, but also a platform for dialogue among different cultures and the integration of diverse artistic forms.
Li Ka Shu said that the Hong Kong Arts Festival has developed into a flagship brand project for culture and art. The thriving of the festival not only showcases Hong Kong's profound cultural soft power, but also attracts more citizens and tourists to participate, further promoting the development of event tourism and the cultural industry.
Li Ka-shing stated that the SAR government has set a clear direction for the long-term development of the arts and culture sector. It is actively consolidating Hong Kong's role as a center for cultural and artistic exchanges between China and the world. By providing financial support to various types of artistic groups and encouraging them to make good use of business support, it promotes the interaction between culture and industry, and opens up broader space for artistic creation. The SAR government will continue to invest resources and showcase Hong Kong's brilliance as a major event hub in Asia and its unique advantages of blending Chinese and Western cultures.
